Next week, as soon as Kauno tiltai finish concreting the last 40 columns of second-level elevated road Kaunas-Klaip\u0117da, the 1st stage of the reconstruction of Jakai roundabout in Klaip\u0117da which is expected to be completed by the end of November 2010 will be halfway through. The 146-metre-long section of third-level elevated road Palanga-Kaunas, foreseen in the 1st stage, has been already accomplished.<\/p>\n
Up to now, 1.46 km of road Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaip\u0117da have been already reconstructed, the lighting of road A1 Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaip\u0117da and elevated road Kaunas-Klaip\u0117da has been installed, the tunnel flyover of A1 Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaip\u0117da road which is 304.5 kilometres long has been reconstructed, the control of the tunnel flyover by means of traffic lights has been installed, the engineering networks: communication lines, electricity lines, water supply and gas pipelines crossing the highway, have been reconstructed.<\/p>\n
According to Aldas Rusevi\u010dius, head of the Engineering Department of Tiltra Group that manages Kauno tiltai, all the works are going smoothly and according to the plan. <\/p>\n
“The flooring of elevated road Kaunas-Klaip\u0117da will be constructed in stages because it is technologically impossible to stretch 610 metres of wire at the same time. Modern equipment specially adapted for this purpose will be used for stretching the wires which consist of 22 strands each,” Mr. Rusevi\u010dius told. <\/p>\n
Elevated road Kaunas-Klaip\u0117da is going to be 20 to 30.5 metres wide, and Palanga-Kaunas – 9.5 metres wide. The structure of the flooring of both elevated roads is uncut monolithic reinforced concrete hollow core flooring with stretched wire fibre on reinforced concrete supports.<\/p>\n
“The reconstruction of Jakai crossing is a particularly complex project. Therefore, a team of professionals of Kauno tiltai has been formed to implement it. State-of-the-art technologies as well as reliable and high quality materials are used in conducting the works. We expect that the elevated road will become an excellent transport link for those going to Klaip\u0117da on the highway and will allow to distribute the traffic flows in a more optimal way,” Mr. Rusevi\u010dius said. <\/p>\n
Four-lane elevated road Klaip\u0117da-Kaunas running towards roundabout Baltija will soon become a Lithuanian record-holder as it will be even 610 metres long. Up to now, the 380-metre long elevated road of the southern bypass of Vilnius, also constructed by Kauno tiltai, has been considered to be the longest elevated road in Lithuania.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
