A. Mackevicius will lead Vilniaus Baldai from July

Aidas Mackevicius will lead Vilniaus Baldai AB, one of the biggest furniture manufacturing companies in Lithuania. From July 1, 2010, he will replace the present CEO 37-year-old Nerijus Pacevicius, who led the company since the autumn of 2006.

“A. Mackevicius has an extensive leadership experience in a large companies and this will further increase the efficiency of Vilniaus Baldai activity” – Vytautas Bucas, a chairman of the Boards of Vilniaus Baldai and managing it company Invalda, said.

43-year-old A. Mackevicius previously worked as CFO (in 1999-2004) and CEO (in 2004-2008) in Palink UAB, managing IKI supermarkets network. Also he was CEO and a Board member in the biggest Lithuanian household appliances and electronic equipment Group of companies Topo Grupe.  

„Export is the engine of Lithuanian economics. Therefore after getting the offer to lead the manufacture company that exports 100 % of its production, I decided to take up this challenge” – said A. Mackevicius.

N. Pacevicius stated, he decided to achieve new goals and to start his own business.

According to V. Bucas, N. Pacevicius implemented all objectives and raised the company to a new qualitative level. It is planed that Invalda and N. Pacevicius will hereafter cooperate on new projects (it be announced later about it).

In 2006, revenue of Vilniaus Baldai reached 110.3 million LTL and a loss of 5.3 million LTL was suffered. Whereas in 2009, Vilniaus Baldai received 149 million LTL revenue and 15.6 million LTL net profit.

Controlling stake in Vilniaus Baldai is owned by investment company Invalda.
