Private debt fund manager Mundus will be led by Viktorija Vaitkevičienė

Mundus, the private debt fund management company that is part of INVL, the leading investment management and life insurance group in the Baltic region, will be led as of 24 January by Viktorija Vaitkevičienė, who has more than 15 years of experience in the finance sector.

Vaitkevičienė is assuming the roles of CEO and Member of the Board at Mundus after obtaining the approval of the Bank of Lithuania. She is replacing board member Audrius Mozūras as the head of the company.

“Private debt is one of the asset classes that the INVL group is developing which we intend to focus on even more. We have no doubt that Viktorija’s experience in the finance sector will contribute positively to the private debt endeavours,” says Vytautas Plunksnis, the Head of Private Equity at the INVL group.

For the past four years, Vaitkevičienė was CEO of the CoInvest Capital venture capital fund and a board member of the Lithuanian Business Angel Network (LitBAN) grouping over 300 investors. From 2009 to 2018, she worked at the national promotional institution Investment and Business Guarantees, Ltd (INVEGA) where she was responsible for implementing private equity and venture capital instruments and selecting fund managers. In 2019-2021, she was Chairwoman of the European Venture Fund Investors Network (EVFIN), which unites investors from 17 countries. Mundus’s new CEO holds a master’s degree in economics from Vilnius University.

“What encouraged me to join the INVL group’s team was its experience and shareholders’ plans in the area of private debt. Alternative financiers play a growing role in the market since they can be more flexible and adapt better to evolving business needs. I believe our private debt products will be attractive both to businesses and to investors looking for fixed returns,” Vaitkevičienė says.

The INVL group company INVL Asset Management owns 51% of the shares of Mundus, which manages the Mundus Bridge Finance private debt fund. INVL Asset Management has also signed an agreement to buy out the remaining shares of Mundus from Audrius Mozūras and Martynas Grikinis, the fund manager of Mundus Bridge Finance. Grikinis will remain active in the company.

Mundus Bridge Finance, an open-ended fund for informed investors, pursues a stable long-term return by providing bridge financing for projects of various types and investing in private debt securities of companies in the fast-growing alternative finance sector. Since its launch in 2015, the private debt fund has conducted 18 deals.

As of the end of December 2022, the fund had assets under management of EUR 26.4 million.
